In 2011, while working at Accenture, Mitsuyo Demura founded the creative collective Konel. With multiple bases in Tokyo, Kanazawa, Kyoto, and Vietnam, he leads projects that bridge design, research & development, and art with over 30 unique creative professionals. In 2020, he launched the innovation media platform Chizai Zukan, facilitating the matching of new businesses with cutting-edge technologies. As a creative director, project designer, and intellectual property (Chizai) hunter, he continues to drive future-oriented implementations across various fields.

Ryo Arai (b. 1977, Tokyo) earned his BA in sociology at Rikkyo University. As a producer at the creative company THINKR, he worked on the production of live-streamed programs for 2.5D, where he was also in charge of alliances and team building.At Konel, he launched Chizai Zukan, promoting innovation at the intersection of creativity and technology. In the web3/NFT realm, he has been involved in projects such as NEO TOKYO PUNKS, 6Town, and QR81V. He is also a mentor at Toranomon Hills “ARCH” and a 2022 mentor for the Japan Patent Office’s I-OPEN initiative.

Shingo Matsuoka (b.1991, Gifu) is an editor, writer, and producer. After working in advertising agencies, editorial production, and publishing companies, he joined Konel and Chizai Zukan. His interests span from local culture to deep tech, focusing on modern and future lifestyles. He likes going downtown, and street drinking.

After majoring in design, Yuka Fukushima worked in production companies and media organizations, engaging in advertising production and e-commerce store management. She later took on roles in product development, content planning, design direction, and PR before working as a director in Canada. She has a strong interest in cross-border business and natural sciences, with a focus on international IP contributions. Key articles include SXSW 2022, Z Special Zone, DESIGNART TOKYO, Expo 2020 Dubai, and Note Creator Festival Supporter.

Yuka Fukushima

After gaining experience in marketing and e-commerce operations at a commercial facility management company, Minako Ushida joined Konel to become a creator. She primarily handles media operations and writing for various projects while also engaging in event planning, production, and project management across a wide range of assignments. She has a strong interest in the fields of food and education and has worked on confectionery development projects such as Onomatopoeic Sweets and Kuu Neru Asobu (Eat, Sleep, Play). Her motto is: “When in doubt, just do it..” A self-proclaimed “bad mother” of two boys.
