Let's elevate society's perspective.
Is it really inevitable?
Creating space for open dialogue on bodies and sexuality
We aim to transform the idea of "しかない"(inevitable) into "しかたなくない" (not inevitable) by making invisible struggles related to bodies and sexuality visible, fostering discussions, and encouraging collective reflection. This social project, launched in December 2021, invites everyone—not just those directly affected—to think critically about these issues under the unifying slogan #しかたなくない.
Partnering with organizations like Shibuya Mirai Design, we continue our efforts to challenge resignation and create a society where people don’t have to accept concerns about their bodies and sexuality as unchangeable simply. We strive to drive gradual yet meaningful social progress through collaborations with companies and organizations.
Issue
As diversity gains recognition and perspectives evolve, many people still unknowingly accept certain struggles as unavoidable. Issues like the body, menstruation, sexuality, education, work, and society often seem unchangeable.
These silent compromises and frustrations can create barriers in life. Acknowledging them is the first step toward moving forward in a way that feels right for each individual.
This is why we created #しかたなくない —a social dialogue project that challenges resignation, fosters open conversations, and empowers people to take control of their own lives.
Creation
The #しかたなくない team includes Nekuino: Next Innovation Inc., creator of the online pill prescription service Sumaluna, along with Konel and New Peace. To highlight unspoken struggles that are not actually inevitable, they launched a campaign in Shibuya, a district known for its diversity.
Twelve posters featuring real voices appeared across the city, prompting people to rethink daily assumptions. At the same time, 10,000 free magazines filled with conversation starters were distributed to encourage open discussions.
By working with companies and organizations that support this cause, the project continues to grow, sharing their perspectives through articles and posters.

「#しかたなくない」 Initiatives
March 4 – International HPV Awareness Day with Vcan
We partnered with Vcan, a student group working to change perceptions of HPV vaccination, for International HPV Awareness Day. Posters with the message “HPV vaccine misunderstandings are #しかたなくない” were displayed alongside interviews with Vcan members. The campaign allowed widespread discussion on social media, especially among medical experts and advocates for HPV vaccine awareness.
Life-size poster Exhibition with FEEL MY FOOTSTEPS
"What does the future you want look like?" This question shaped an interactive event with the sock brand FEEL MY FOOTSTEPS at Miyashita Park. A full-body photo space encouraged participants to pose freely and add personal messages to their printed life-size posters. Over two days, 571 people joined, creating 276 posters displayed in the second-floor atrium of Miyashita Park.

Co-Learning Project with 20 Volunteers
Sex education in Japan is often deprioritized, with limited opportunities in schools and workplaces. This project shifts from traditional top-down teaching to a co-learning approach, where people of all ages explore topics they genuinely want to understand. Participants—including educators, disability care workers, students, employees, and activists—collaborated to develop engaging, inclusive lesson ideas.

Education Kit “LOVE GROWS” with Tinder
Building on the Co-Learning Project, we partnered with Tinder to create an interactive learning tool. Using scenario-based cards inspired by real-life dating app experiences, participants learn how to navigate sensitive situations and communicate effectively. The kit is now used in events organized by Shibuya City and university programs.
Life-Size Posters & Voices at TGC teen
At TGC Teen (Tokyo Girls Collection’s teen-focused event), we collaborated with four models to display message boards for young audiences. Each model shared their #しかたなくない story in interviews published on our platform. The event also featured an interactive #しかたなくないBoard, where attendees contributed their thoughts, along with free distribution of the #しかたなくない magazine.

Future
The #しかたなくない project will continue partnering with organizations committed to driving change. Companies interested in tackling overlooked issues can reach out through our contact form.
