Towards a Future Where Anyone Can Be a Cosmetics Producer
Developing an On-Demand Online Cosmetics Production & Sales System
We built a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) platform that enables one-stop cosmetics production, development, and sales. By implementing a fully on-demand and digitalized system, this service significantly reduces both production lead time and initial costs, which were previously constrained by large-lot manufacturing requirements.


Issue
Redefining the Norms of Cosmetics Development
Traditionally, launching a new cosmetics brand requires at least six months from concept to release, with large production volumes and high initial costs as industry standards. Additionally, development processes have remained manual and non-digitalized despite the rise of influencer-led brands driven by social media. To disrupt this outdated model, we built a system that streamlines and modernizes the cosmetics creation process.

Creation
A D2C Platform for Influencers
The system enables cosmetics development in just 1.5 months, with every step—from formulation to sales—handled online.
1. Influencers sign a contract with NUANCE LAB.
2. They use a dedicated online platform to customize ingredients, pricing, and design.
3. After reviewing samples, they launch the product for pre-order sales via a dedicated e-commerce site.
4. NUANCE LAB. Manages production and fulfillment, eliminating the need for influencers to handle inventory or logistics.
5. Influencers promote and sell their products to their followers and fans, earning profits based on sales performance.
This system transforms NUANCE LAB. Into a D2C support platform, providing influencers with a seamless environment to produce and market their own cosmetics brands.
Technology
A Custom Application Seamlessly Integrated with E-Commerce
We developed a proprietary application to handle product formulation, sample ordering, pricing simulation, and design customization.
Instead of reinventing the wheel for e-commerce functions, we integrated Shopify for its robust sales and order management features.
The system ensures a seamless user experience by leveraging Shopify’s API, fully linking it with the custom-built application.
