Bringing the Vision of the Floating City “Dogen City” to Life

In preparation for 2030 and beyond, N-ARK is developing plans for Dogen City, a floating city designed to adapt to climate change. We created N-ARK’s website and vision movie to communicate this initiative.

Building a Resilient Marine Economy As Climate Change Accelerates

N-ARK is pioneering private-sector marine innovation, transforming the ocean into a new economic zone—NEW OCEAN—and developing a resilient marine economy in response to climate change.

At the heart of this vision is Dogen City, a floating smart city that integrates healthcare, food systems, architecture, data, energy, and resources into a unified marine ecosystem.

To support N-ARK’s mission, Konel redesigned their website to introduce the initiative globally, announced the formation of a consortium, and produced a vision movie to communicate their concept.

Creation

Blending N-ARK’s Vision with Eastern Aesthetics

We expressed N-ARK’s spirit of innovation and openness through a design inspired by Eastern sensibilities. The visual identity reflects the ocean, using grayish-blue tones, nuanced typography, and dynamic layouts, with ripple motifs appearing throughout.

To reinforce Dogen City's concept of "Ishoku Dogen" (the idea that food and medicine are fundamentally connected), we incorporated kanji in key titles.

For the Dogen City page, we visualized the city's functions and offerings through illustrations informed by expert insights. By showcasing related projects alongside, we emphasized its integration with the consortium initiative.
