For the FIFA World Cup Russia, we developed an interactive AI robot that predicted match outcomes using the voice of Jon Kabira, Fuji TV’s official announcer.

Boosting Engagement for All Broadcasted Matches

Due to time zone differences, many World Cup matches aired outside prime viewing hours, making it difficult to maintain audience interest. The challenge was to increase engagement even for less accessible match times.

Creation

A Conversational Experience with Jon Kabira

We built a voice database of Jon Kabira, the legendary football commentator, enabling an AI robot to announce match predictions in his signature style. Implemented using TOSHIBA’s RECAIUS speech analysis technology, AI Kabira-kun engaged football fans at press events and Fuji TV exhibition spaces, encouraging real-time match viewing.

Additionally, we introduced an online chat feature, allowing fans to interact with AI Kabira-kun, creating a wider digital touchpoint for World Cup enthusiasts.
